Debbie and I drove home in our separate cars and as we pulled into our driveway, I could tell that she was still angry at me for being late. By this point, I was tired and ready for a distraction.
“I’m going to take Claire home, then I will be back.” There wasn’t an opportunity for her to tell me no. I opened the front door, walked into the foyer, and smiled at the babysitter.
“Hey there, you guys have fun?” She bounced up from the couch. I could still picture her perky tits, even though she was now fully clothed again.
“It was a nice evening. Thank you for coming over. James is going to take you home.”
I watched as Debbie reached into her purse and pulled out two twenties and handed them to the babysitter. Seemed like a hell of a deal, easy work for a sleeping child upstairs.
“Thanks so much, anytime you need help, just call.” Claire gathered her purse, put the money in her wallet and then walked over next to me. “Appreciate the lift. I would take the van. There is construction on the way, and you don’t want to get a rock or something breaking the nice windshield of your car.”
“Claire, you’re so thoughtful,” my wife said. She turned toward me, handed me her keys, and then kissed my cheek. “I’ll see you later.”
