It was always bittersweet leaving Mary after one of our rendezvous. But I loved Kim, and I didn’t want to risk ever being caught sneaking around. Tonight, I made it home first. I was in the slower cleaning off when I heard her walk in.

“Hey John.” Her voice sounded exhausted.

“Hey sweetheart. You want to come join me?”

Her voice sounded reluctant, “No, I am just going to get changed and lay in the bed.”

That was part of my issue, she never wanted to do the dirtier things sexually. But she was such an amazing person I didn’t want to give her up.

“Okay Kim. I’ll be right now.”

“No, please don’t rush for me, take your time.”

I watched her through the glass shower as she walked back and forth from her sink to the closet changing clothes. When I turned the water off and grabbed my towel, she was already in our bed with her head laying on her pillow. It was hard for her, these late nights.

“How was the game,” she asked as I walked into the room.

I forgot to see who won, “I didn’t really pay attention. Got to talking with another guy at the bar. Hell, I don’t even know who won.”

“Sounds like your night was better than mine.” She pulled the covers back as I slipped into bed beside her.

“Do you want to cuddle?”

I watched her nod her head, “I’d love that.”
