Good morning, my wonderful readers! November kind of snuck up on me with a force I didn’t expect. One minute I am planning my grandchild’s Halloween festivities, and the next, the whole thing happened and now we’re onto Thanksgiving. I am pretty sure that 2024 has been the fastest year of my life. But I think I say that every year. Maybe that’s another ‘joy’ of getting older. Time goes by faster. All the more reason to stop and take a moment each day to enjoy life.
So much happened in October in my author world. Finding a place to start is the easy part. Limiting how long this newsletter is, that’s the hard part!
GOALS
October was my 3rd best month of 2024, which is astounding! September being the 1st. That would have been a very hard month to beat. BUT I am quite pleased with the performance I had. They say hard work pays off, and that is certainly what I’m seeing in the “Skylar” world. I took two screen shots this time of my stats, one including the NOLA author event and one without the NOLA event. Just because those tend to skew the numbers. Either way, October kicked ass!
Stats WITH New Orleans Author Event
Stats Without New Orleans Author Event
Last December, I set out goals for where I wanted to be at the end of 2024. On my revenue goal I am at 125% achieved. This begs the question, what should my goal be for 2025? I have always aimed for 10% more than the previous time period. But I don’t want to sell myself short. So, just gotta figure out what kind of KPI’s I want to work towards. I also had a set goal for the number of physical sales I would have this year. I am 93.45% towards achieving that goal. I’m so close I can taste it! I am confident I will knock that one out of the park in November.
When you put the numbers out like this, it gives you something to work towards and I am a numbers girl. This is how I find motivation when I’m feeling down and out. I want to keep ticking off my goals.
New Releases
This past month I had more new releases than normal. I joined up with a special project, A Monstrous Mistake, which was so much fun! An Orc For Halloween, I think is one of the most fun projects I had this year and I am so glad to be part of that amazing group of authors. I also tossed a story I co-wrote for Medium with Logan Black and Sunny A Morgan into a charity anthology for the Hurricane Halen victims that Lacey Cross organized. I’m happy to report it has been an Amazon #1 best seller since it was released! Here are quick links to my October books in case you missed any of them. Don’t forget, Big Bad Wolf #2 came out also last month. I am very proud of that book and what my ‘author besties’ and I put together. #SaveTheWolves!
A NECROSIS BLACKOUT (Erotic Horror)
Fucking My Stepson (CRUSH Site Only)
An Orc for Halloween– Kindle Unlimited (PNR/Fated Mates)
Big Bad Wolf 2 Anthology (For Charity - NY Wolf Conservatory Foundation)
The interns Book 2 - The Corvette – Kindle Unlimited
Not-So-Guilty Pleasures: 45 Filthy Stories for a Cause: A Charity Anthology
Like I said, a lot was going on last month!

Closing Thoughts
Again – I can’t express my gratitude enough to all of you wonderful readers for supporting my journey like you do. I couldn’t do this without you all. I am extremely grateful. This month I had to order more physical book stock, and it really was overwhelming, emotionally. Thinking about each of you and how you trust me to bring you quality stories time and time again. I know you all have so many authors you can pick from, but the fact you keep coming back means the world to me.
I cherish all of you.
There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t feel immense gratitude for what this year has brought to me, through all of you. I hope you all feel my appreciation. This journey is one with overwhelming emotions and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Until next month, much love being sent to all of you.
XoXo,
Skylar
